DTF stands for direct to film. We print your artwork onto a special clear film, coat it with a fine adhesive powder and cure it, which gives you a ready to press transfer. You lay it on your garment, press it with heat, peel the film away and the design locks into the fabric. There is no weeding, no layering of vinyl and no limit on colors. It works on cotton, blends, denim, spandex, tote bags and plenty more.
Send us a file at 300 DPI at the exact size you want it pressed. A PNG with a transparent background is best, because anything white in your file will print as white ink. Vector files such as AI, EPS, PDF or SVG also work beautifully and scale without going soft. Please avoid screenshots, phone photos and images saved from social media. They look fine on a screen but turn blurry once we blow them up for print. If you are unsure, send it over and we will check it for free.
Wait at least 24 hours after pressing before the first wash. Turn the garment inside out, wash cold on a gentle cycle and use a mild detergent. Skip the bleach and the fabric softener, because both eat away at the print over time. Tumble dry on low or hang it up to dry. Never run an iron directly over the design. If it needs a second press, cover it with parchment or a teflon sheet first. Treat it kindly and it will stay bright for years.
Just about any color you can picture. DTF prints handle full color artwork, photographs, smooth gradients, fine lines and small text without breaking a sweat. The white ink layer is the real advantage here, because it sits underneath your colors, so bright whites and soft pastels stay true even on black, navy or denim. There is no extra charge for a busier design either. A single name drop and a full photo print cost the same, since we price by size, not by how many colors you use.
It is simple. Pick the size or gang sheet you need in our store, upload your file, add any notes for our designers, choose your quantity and check out. We look the file over, print it, then either ship it to your door or hold it for local pickup here in Greenville. If anything about the artwork needs a second look, you will hear from us first. We keep a quick turnaround time on every order, so you are never left guessing. Questions before you buy? Call 903-781-0453 or email info@southernfoxdesigns.com.
There is no minimum. Order one transfer or order a thousand. We started this shop at our own kitchen table, so we know exactly what it is like to need a single shirt for a birthday or a market stall. Boutiques, mom and pop stores and stay at home crafters are all welcome here at any size. Gang sheets are the cheapest way to buy in bulk, because you fit many designs onto one sheet, and free shipping kicks in on orders over $200.
